Is primarily
for the benefit of all collectors and followers of the life and times
of Dr. Christopher Syn Vicar of Dymchurch under the Wall in the county
of Kent, Dean of the Peculiaries alias the "Scarecrow" and
in his third persona "Captain Clegg" the pirate, from
the novels written by Russell Thorndike (1885 to 1972).
Inspired by an
18th century theme of Smugglers, Highwaymen and Pirates, the Kentish
artist Terry Anthony recreates in oils truly atmospheric images portraying
the life and times of these characters.
Terry Anthony
is the only artist in the world to be fully endorsed by the Thorndike
family for his recreation of the characters from those novels and
has established quite a reputation for himself.
To date Terry has given radio interviews, appeared on television and
featured in local and national newspapers. The News of The World describes
Terry as a 'Cult Artist'. Terry's works have attracted a worldwide
following of collectors.
